THE ONION TABLE

Beautifully odd, complex hues from such a humble, ordinary ingredient—onions.

Natural dye is the grand master of rich color and onions create some of my favorite hues to work with. My latest batch of onion napkins will be in regular rotation in my household, for snacks and casual meals. But with the holidays coming up, I look forward to seeing them in a fully decked-out tablescape, too. For tips in that department, I look to my downstairs studio neighbors, The Floral Society

The magic of The Floral Society is that they've turned their own table styling expertise into something accessible for the rest of us. Their collection is like an entry level invite into the world of color stories and texture. Everything just mixes and matches so easily.

I asked them if I could come play with their ceramics and candles, and my new napkins. I hope these palettes inspire you to create your tablescape, for holiday or any day. Just add flowers!
